The TUC Officers of the National Sports Authority (NSA) today paid a courtesy call on the Authority’s Director General, Prof Peter Twumasi, and Management. They used the occasion to discuss matters relevant to workers and management of the Authority. Key among them were promotion of workers, need for further recruitment of new staff, quest for increasing NSA budget above the current 8% of the Ministry’s budget, retirement benefits and other conditions of service.
The Union commended the DG of his exceptional achievements since taking over the leadership in the last three and half years, and assured him of workers unflinching support to deliver on the Authority’s mandates.
They were thankful for the migration of workers to new and enhanced salary structure, promotion of hundreds of workers since 2019, recruitment of 250 new staff to double authority’s workforce, massive reduction in outstanding debts, successes at international competitions to win numerous medals and trophies, and significant improvement of the outlook and appeal of the Authority at both national and international levels.
The Union was led by its Chairman, Mr Michael Mensah Tabiri, and other Management members present included Head of Technical, Mr Kwame Amponfi Jnr, Head of HR, Mr Papa Asante, and Head of Estate Dept, Mr Ebo Andorful.
