After dropping in the world ranking from 206 to 413, due to his lack of international competitions and performance, Ghana’s top seed Derek Abrefa has improved in the world ranking this May 2022 ranking from 413 back to 350.
He is still the highest ranked Ghanaian Table Tennis player by the International Table Tennis Federation
Derek Abrefa: attributed his fall due to the the Covid pandemic which could not allow engagement in international tournaments.
“After my outstanding performance at the recent African Championship, I’m moving forward again. And is my target to make it to the world best” he said.
Derek Abrefa works with the Ghana Immigration Service, and he always wants to make his employers, fans and friends happy. He believes the GIS has done a lot for Ghana sports through Table Tennis.
