Samuel Takyi, Ghana’s 2020 Olympic Games bronze medalist aka ‘ Ring Warrior’ has called the bluff challenge reigning National Super Featherweight Champion, Alfred Lamptey for a fight
Samuel Takyi who is under Bazooka Promotions yesterday evening called Yours Truly to advertise the information that he is ready to face the champion who holds six titles.
He went to the extend of calling the reigning champion his small boy back then when it comes to boxing and he will forever be his boy, so he should accept the challenge and let the fight happen.
However, when Yours Truly called Alfred Lamptey on the issue this afternoon, he said Samuel Takyi just wants some hype, because he has gone under water and has lost his popularity.
Mr. Alex Ntiamoah – Boakye, manager of Alfred Lamptey also said “ Takyi wants hype, forget about him”.
Futher research proved that Alfred Lamptey aka ‘The Bukom Bomber’ wants to face the world best in the Super Featherweight division as he is focused and looking up not down.
Boxing fans who were interviewed on the possible clash between Takyi and Lamptey had mixed feelings and views. While some say Takyi is now coming up and should fight more to gain experience, others also say it will be a great clash.
Some are of the opinion that the two Ghanaian young boxers should not be paired now, but be prepared to challenge opponents outside Ghana, and go for the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBC belts, before thinking of a unification bout that can earn both boxers huge cash. The debate is on in Bukom, James Town and spreading through Accra.
Lamptey is unbeaten in 10 fights, while Takyi has won just two pro fights.
