Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Fabio dos Santos Gama is off to join Bahraini top-flight league outfit Muharraq Club on a free transfer.
The Brazilian midfielder is on the verge international sealing a move to Bahraini top-tier club after ending his stay at Asante Kotoko,
The 29-year old is joining Muharraq Club after leaving Ghana Premier League powerhouse Asante Kotoko following the expiration of his contract.
Gama had his two-year contract with Kotoko expired and refused to renew it despite the club’s eagerness to reach a new deal.
Gama and his representatives have reached an agreement to join Muharraq Club for the 2022/23 season.
Gama joined Asante Kotoko as a free agent in 2020 and helped them win the Ghana Premier League in the recently ended season.
He made 48 appearances for Kotoko during his two-year stay and scored only five goals.
Fabio Gama had an impressive debut season where he scored four goals in 28 matches but had a limited time the following season under coach Prosper Narteh Ogum due to injuries.
Muharraq Club is a Bahraini professional football club based in Muharraq. It is one of the oldest sports clubs in the Arabian Peninsula. Al-Muharraq Sports Club has won the Bahraini Premier League 33 times. Al-Muharraq Sports Club also takes part in other sports like futsal, basketball, bowling and volleyball.
