French-based defender Alexander Djiku has been voted the Footballer of the Year at the 2022 Ghana Football Awards which took place at the Grand Arena in Accra.
The 27 year old had a great season with RC Strasbourg in the just ended French Ligue 1, having made massive 31 appearances, two in the French Cup with a goal to his belt.
He has been an integral member of the Black Stars since his debut having featured in the last AFCON and also played a huge role in helping Ghana qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup which will be held in Qatar later this year.
He won this prestigious accolade over Thomas Partey, Daniel Amartey, Jojo Wollacott and Mohammed Salisu.
The fourth edition of the Ghana Football Awards was held at Grand Arena in Accra on Saturday evening.
