Bastie Samir and Holy Dorgbetor live up to expectations


Bastie Samir of Ghana won his latest fight against Cameroun’s Kamdam Kouengoue on points on the Ace Power Boxing Promotions Bill at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on Saturday June 18.
The 33 year old Ghanaian who has not fought since April 2021 used the fight as a warm up for greater things to come as he has already pointed out that his target is to win a continental or world title.
He gave a very good account of himself against tall and big Kouengoue to prove to his fans that he is not rusty, but has the will and power for more success.
Samir now has a record of 20-0-1, 18 KOs .
His fans were very happy and praised him, carrying him shoulder high to motivate and inspire him to do more.
Kouengoue also had a good fight because he was not knocked down by the knock out expert.
Pride of the Volta region, Holy Dorgbetor successfully defended his National Featherweight title belt against experienced Emmanuel Quartey.
The 23-year-old Dorgbetor, now 9 – 0, 5 KOs won via an unanimous decision over Emmanuel Quartey aka Akufo-Addo in an entertaining bout as the three officials scored 79 – 73 each
Quartey (25-5, 21 KOs) now 32 years old says he is giving up as boxing is the only business he can do well, and has propel him to fame.
On the undercard, Mohammed Ali was beaten by Issah Inusah for the National light heavyweight Championship.
Richard Fenyi won over Sylvester Doku in a lightweight contest.
John Zile also beat Robert Nunoo in their featherweight contest.
Raymond Kofi Ansah lost to Emmanuel Baidoo Sarpey as they gave fans much to cheer about in their super welterweight contest.
Sensational Samuel Martey Laryea was as usual busy and successful just like workaholic Abraham Afful and Ahmed Abdula who won their bouts.
Ace Power Boxing Promotions must be commended for always coming out with good amazing pairings.
