CYCLING EXPLOSION: ACCRA CHAMPIONSHIP AND NATIONAL TOUR DU GHANA TO HIT THE CAPITAL


The Ablekuma vicinity and its environs will receive a massive explosion of a dual Cycling competition in the coming days.
The first event dubbed “Accra Cycling championships” will blast off the Ablekuma enclave and the Olebu stretch in a firece criterium of 13 laps -104km for the junior category on the 25th and 19 laps-152km for the elites and under 23 category on the 26th of June, 2022.
This “must watch” road battle will see top notch wheelers in the country in the likes of Emmanuel Otukornor Sackey of River Park Accra, Abdul Rahman Samed, current road controller and Prudential ride champion, Anthony Boakye of Sunyani River Park Cycling club, experienced Isaac Sackey, dangerous Frank Akuffo amongst others.
The 5 days Tour Du Ghana (Route of the South) Road race follows immediately from the 6th -10th July, 2022 in what promises to be a Road bout amongst the crack riders in the country.
The Tour Du Ghana event would take through four regions in Ghana ,Greater Accra, Volta, Eastern and Central regions with a total distance of 640km it’s a trademark event in establishing who controls the pedals and a bragging right for the upcoming stubborn riders to prove their mettle.
These dual events has come at a time when Ghana’s participation in the upcoming Commonwealth Games is rife and the needed power, strength and an established threshold of accumulated energy is needed to complete the Birmingham task.
Speaking to the Technical Director of the Ghana Cycling Federation Mr. Shaaban Mohammed, he was highly optimistic next week’s race specifically “would be very interesting and a must watch”- he said.
The strategic planning of these double crackers has attracted other partners sponsors come on board to share this Road honors.
President of the Ghana Cycling Federation Mohammed Sahnoon Esq has fully endorsed this exercise and believes this is the right step in exploring the power and readiness ahead of major competitions.
