Ghana’s Chef De Mission for Birmingham 2022, Frederick Acheampong, has revealed that over 600 journalists have applied to cover the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The competition is scheduled to start from July 28- 8 August.
Team Ghana will be participating in the competition with 94 athletes already qualified for the event coming up in the summer.
Speaking in an interview on Happy Sports on Ghana’s preparation ahead of the Games, The GOC Treasurer said, “Over 600 media journalists have applied from Ghana for the Games. All the journalists who be selected by the Birmingham 2022 organizers will be subjected to background checks.
“We want to avoid another Australia saga. The final list for athletes to participate in the Games for Team Ghana that will be presented to the GOC will also be subjected to security checks.
He added that Team Ghana will start preparations ahead of the games next month.
