Six pretty young girls from Saah Estates in Winneba who love to be called the Saah Ladies demonstrated real determination, team work and tactical discipline to emerge winners of the 2022 Aboakyer Festival Sports Ampe event.
After losing their first game, they were not perturbed but organized themselves and came back stronger to beat all their opponents in a unique style.
They won the final game against Ansaful who were also a young group of beautiful girls.
The Saah Ladies, all students, comprising Isabella Allotey, Anita Aidoo, Henrietta K. Baidoo, Henrietta P. Baidoo, Abigail Baidoo, and Sarah Baidoo promised to take Ampe seriously and always represent their community.
They thanked the organisers of the Aboakyer Sports Festival for giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and talent in Ampe.
They were presented with a gold cup and products from the sponsors of the 2022 Aboakyer Festival Sports.
Some of the teams that participated in the Ampe were from St. Johns Anglican JHS, Effutu Youth, Methodist AC, Yansafo, John Bosco and Winneba SHS.
Naase Aba Korkor, a traditional elder and Mrs. Judith Micah, Municipal Director of Education in Effutu (Winneba) who demonstrated their skills in Ampe commended the participants and congratulated the winners.
They advised the young girls to take their education and sports serious as there are many chances.
Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams, director of Dreamland Sports Plus, the organisers of the Aboakyer Sports Festival also thanked the chiefs, elders and people of Winneba who supported to make the Sports Festival very successful.
The events competed were Tug of War, Football, Cooking, Washing and Ampe.
The sponsors were Coca-Cola, Betika, Fortune Rice, Jamaa Laundry Soap, 8pm, Afri Bull and Frytol.
