Ghanaian sensational and phenomenal track and field athlete, Deborah Acquah has qualified for all the major upcoming competitions in 2022. She has booked her ticket for the World Athletics Championships which will be held at Oregon, United States from Friday, 15th July- Sunday, 24th July 2022, the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England from Thursday,28th July – Monday, 8th August 2022, Africa Senior Championships in Mauritius from Wednesday, 8th June – Sunday, 12th June 2022 and World University Games in Chengdu, Sichuan, China from Sunday, 26th June – Thursday,7th July 2022.
Acquah leaped to a big Personal Best (PB), World Lead (WL) of 6.89m (0.7) to win the women’s Long Jump at the Texas A&M verses Texas Dual.
She has also broken her own women’s Ghanaian National Long Jump Record in the process. She beats the favourite Tyra Gittens who held the World Lead (WL) in the same event going into the competition. Tyra managed to jump 6.58m and placed second while Ackelia Smith also placed third in a leaped of 6.46m.
