It was a return to the windy city for Jackie Kostek on Tuesday as she had an exclusive interview with the 13 times USA Nationals Junior Boxing Champion, Joseph Awinongya Junior.
They spoke about his trip to Africa, Ghana to be precise, and the experience of meeting with the people, dignitaries and chiefs, as well as focusing on Awinongya’s new exclusive documentary dubbed ‘Jojo The Boxer’ which would be released very soon.
While in the motherland, Jojo was given a rousing heroic welcome at the Accra airport and he was privileged to meet top personalities like sports philanthropist Alhaji Inusah Sally, former WBC Featherweight champion Prof. Azumah Nelson, former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, Nii Annang Adjor the chief of Ashaiman, the youth & sports minister of Ghana Hon Mustapha Ussif and others including students and members of the Ghana Boxing Supporters Union (GHABSU).
Awinongya Junior whose exploits has been recognized by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), and is in line for more honours has pledged to intensify his humanitarian deeds and take it to a higher level to support more people.
Jackie Kostek is a reporter and anchor, covering both news and sports for CBS Chicago. She previously worked with WCIU as a features reporter and producer, as well as a digital host for Chicago Blackhawks. Most recently she was a weekend news anchor and sports reporter at KTNV in Las Vegas.
