UK based Ghanaian Light Heavyweight boxer, Seth Gyimah aka Freezy Macbones defeated tough opponent Darryl Sharp in just his second professional outing at the Copper Box Arena in London.
The bout was a four rounder which the new sensation won via points; putting up a devastating display that has captured the attention of many. Albeit there’s a school of thought that believes he ought to be more responsible defensively.
Freezy, who began boxing at 27, moved from his homeland of Ghana where he was a construction worker, to the UK in pursuit of greener pastures.
He fights under the Queensberry Promotions banner marshalled by Frank Warren and his fighting style has been likened to that of Mike Tyson: very aggressive, explosive and with raw power.
” I worked so hard towards my dreams like a mad man and now this is the answer,” an emotional Gyimah stated during the post-fight interview.
Bigger things are on the horizon for this young prospect should he keep focused and stay hungry.
Also on the bill as the main event was another boxer of Ghanaian descent, Middleweight Denzel Ntim Mensah Bentley, who also defeated Kieran Smith. BY SAMUEL OPOKU AMOAH GOLD.
