Accra based media house, ADOA TV has made a donation to the National Female Boxing Team. The presentation was made on behalf of the media outfit by Head of Sports, Isaac Mortey who was also in the company of Samuel Ofosu Appiah and Daniel Odartey Lamptey: Head of News and Head of Sports for ADOA TV respectively.
Dauda Fuseini- First Vice President of the Ghana Boxing Federation received the donation which was made up of cartons of mineral water and an undisclosed sum of cash. He expressed appreciation and urged other media outfits and corporate bodies to come to the aid of the National Female Boxing Team also known as The Black Hitters and other National Boxing Teams.
He bemoaned the seeming lack of adequate government support and hoped for amelioration. He assured that the gesture would go a long way to motivate the team to win laurels as they prepare for the World Championships in Turkey in June.
Abdul Rasheed Williams, trainer of the Black Hitters was thankful for the donation and also related that more of such would be needed to ease their non-residential camping at The Gym in Accra.
Captain of the team, Fairuza Osman hinted on the team’s readiness to raise high the flag of Ghana.
Present were GBF officials and members of the media fraternity .
