Ghana U23, Black Meteors, head coach Ibrahim Tanko has invited former Hearts of Oak attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh to join his chargers ahead of the U23 AFCON qualifier against Algeria next week.
The 21-year-old attacker joined Swiss side FC Zurich after the 2023 CHAN tournament where he scored against Sudan in a 3-1 victory for the Black Galaxies.
He was also a member of the Ghana squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar but failed to make an appearance.
Prior to his departure from the shores of the West African nation, scored 3 goals as Ghana defeated Mozambique 4-1 on aggregate to reach the final stage of the qualifiers.
The soft-spoken tactician has included Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Emmanuel Yeboah and Ernest Nuamah in the squad for the clash against Algeria.
He invited Felix Afena Gyan but he declined.
The Olympic Games is the Biggest Sports Festival in the world, and Ghana was last represented in football in 2004.
Coach Tanko and his assistants want to break the jinx.
