The Ghana Paralympic Committee is assuring all Ghanaians that all athletes living in the Turkish region are safe and sound after a devastating earthquake which has so far reportedly claimed 2,300 lives.
A number of Ghanaians are within the areas of the incident and concerns are being raised over their safety since the incident.
The Paralympic Officials are quickly in a press release (attached here) assuring all that they have so far reached a number of them and are doing well, pledging to continue monitoring developments in and around Turkey.
In a related development, the national team’s department of the Ghana football association says it’s in touch with Ghanaian Footballers in and around Turkey and Syria to ensure their safety. This comes in the wake of the news of the earthquake in which footballer Christian Atwu Twasam is being mentioned in the media in connection with the disaster.
