JOHN QUAYE VRS CHARLES TETTEH: A FITTING FINALE OF FINESSE.

JOHN QUAYE VRS CHARLES TETTEH: A FITTING FINALE OF FINESSE.

The Deluxy Professional Boxing League draws to a close on Boxing Day; December 26,2022 with an epic duel between Charles Tetteh of the Panix Boxing Gym and John Quaye from the Sea View Gym.

The league, put together by Imax Media Group Promotions in collaboration with the Ghana Boxing Authority has staged 19 fight nights this year being the first season, with each night seeing a jam-packed Bukom Boxing Arena with vociferous fight fans excitedly clamoring for more.

The platform has also been an overture where numerous talents have been unearthed, groomed and exposed: the likes of Elvis Ahorgah, Akai Nettey, Eric Korley, John Zile, Musah Rahman Lawson, Philip Ayeh Tetteh, Eric Asante have all had their share of the “Deluxy Cake”.

From the fierce competition between 12 gyms, the Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation appears to have solidified their lead and are in pole position to emerge with the Best Gym Trophy.

The other knot which is yet to be untied is the Best Boxer category, and that is where John Quaye has a bone to pick with Charles Tetteh.

John Quaye is nicknamed The Magic Man; a former footballer whose initial romance with the Sweet Science was to come in and lose to build the records of supposed prospects. But the Boxing League platform gave him proper direction and has a made a winner, a fans’ favorite and a genuine prospect out of him. Quaye has had seven wins this year with five knockouts; his most impressive victories being against Emmanuel Mensah aka Agoogo and also Michael Akramah Tetteh. He’s a wily boxer, very elusive and a good counter puncher who idolizes Emmanuel “Game Boy” Tagoe and Pernell “Sweet Pea” Whitaker. Originally discovered by the Jamestown Boxing Club, The Magic Man would seek to continue his new found winning formula.

Young Charles Tetteh at 18 years and with a record of five wins and four knockouts is an explosive heavy-handed boxer- puncher who likes to finish it early. He’s got a massive fan army just like John Quaye and wouldn’t want to let them down.

With a car, cash prizes and bragging rights at stake, momentum has reached fever pitch and both camps are simmering with subdued gusto and adrenaline rush.

If what took place at the weigh in is anything to go by then a mammoth attendance awaits this epic clash for the ages.

The tough training regiments, spiritual undertones, verbal exchanges and psychological warfare would surely come to play under bright lights.

My prediction??: May the better man win!
