Ghana’s Winter sport and first Skeleton Olympian, Akwasi Frimpong has began his season in earnest and it is time this young man is given the needed attention and support.
The second half of his seasonal competitions commences from the 25th December,2022 and he is already running short of funds not less than $50,000 to be able to make do with the competitions ahead. But the question is “who supports him”?
” As a father and a husband raising funds to compete is not my only daily struggle and responsibility ,but to also make sure I am taking care of my family while trying to represent my nation all over the World”- he lamented.
Akwasi Frimpong started the Bobsled and Skeleton Federation in September 2016, the same year he represented Ghana in International competitions, winning five International laurels for the country.
Akwasi Frimpong became the first African to earn a World champion top six podium finish in a winter Sport on December 9,2022.
The winter sport pacesetter is currently in the best of shape and relishing higher laurels for the country.
This is the time such a personality,who has placed Ghana on a high pedestal needs assistance. He truly deserves it.
