“Ampe” is a traditional sport for females and has been in existence since time immemorial. It is again played in countries like DR Congo, Benin and Togo. It was first tested at the Congo African Games with tremendous success.
Ampe has the backing of the International Olympic Committee -IOC, and expected to be embraced into the Olympic family. It narrowly lost its inclusion into the last Olympics.
