The venue was the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, February 15, 2026 a day after the Valentine celebrations so people were still in the romantic mood and the weather proved to be good for a big game between the nations most glamorous clubs, Kumasi Asante Kotoko the Porcupine Warriors and Accra Hearts of Oak, the Continental Club Masters.

At the end of 90 minutes plus an added time of 4 minutes, it was Accra Hearts of Oak, the visitors who clinched victory with a dramatic goal scored from the head of Baba Adamu who has an excellent game.
The Guinean goalie of Asanti Kotoko, Camara was left in wonderland after the expert freekick in the 14th minute which resulted in the lone goal and Coach Didi Dramani put together his tactics and technics in playing with ten men when the right full back was given the second yellow card for a send off with the red card from SWAG Referee of the Year, Daniel Laryea.

Asante Koto Kotoko, a team facing crisis following the resignation of former player/captain and coach Karim Zito Kabutey, were very optimistic of winning at home, but they were shocked for the first time in 10 years when the jinx was broken the the young lads from Accra in the rainbow colours among was birthday boy Mawuli Wayo, spearheaded by the great Benjamin Asare of Black Stars fame.
Asare was so fantastic in goal with exciting saves and he entertained the fans. On some occasions in the game he came out to play libro role.
On the other side the star boys of Kotoko were degassing after running round the field for nothing. Skipper Albert Amoah, Load Amoah and Kwadwo Poku who came in later could not break the defence of the Phobians as Ali Mohammed and his guys stood stronger as the time tickled on.
The fans came in their numbers and special thanks must go to the regional ministers of the Ashanti and Greater Accra for their influence in the match, buying tickets for supporters and urging everyone to behave well in the stands, before, during and after the game.
Among the fans who watched the entertaining match were a full house of the Black Stars technical staff in Ghana.
For the Phobians, it was a sweet victory and revenge and they sang home while most smiled in their dreams.
