The Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has directed the suspended of all boxing activities following the sad death of Super Middleweight boxer, Ernest Akushey aka ‘Bahubali’.

The letter issued on the dawn of Friday September 26, by Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah said the suspension will remain in place until investigations into the circumstances surrounding Akushey’s death are completed.
“All boxing activities are hence suspended pending investigation into the death of Ernest Akushey,” he stated.
Meanwhile, there was supposed to be a bill on Saturday by Ayitey Powers Promotions, that includes a Commonwealth title clash between Michael Abban of the Black Panthers Gym against a Nigerian.
In another development, many boxers and promoters as well as stake holders are not happy with the ban or suspension.

Although Yaw Ampofo Ankrah said it is a ‘pulse’ to put things together and implement recommendations many boxing fans are not happy.
