On behalf of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Ghana, the Secretary General, Mr. Peter Adjei donated Everyday Wheelchairs to the Special Olympic Ghana body at the Dzorwulu Special School.
In his speech, he pointed to the need for a strong collaboration between the NPC-Ghana and the Special Olympics Ghana for the development and promotion of sports for persons with Intellectual Impairments.
The wheelchairs were provided by Wheelchairs of Hope and The Volunteer Group to Send Wheelchairs to Africa, all from Japan and supported by Miss Sheila Mogalo (Consultant for the International Paralympic Committee), Mr Fabio Akiyoshi and the entire Ghana Embassy to Japan.
The items were received by Mrs Phyllis Biney and Mr Fred Tetteh who promised to put the chairs to good use and also to facilitate a stronger bond between the bodies.
This is a great legacy of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games for Ghana
