Ghana’s Winter Olympian Akwasi Frimpong, the Black Panther on ice has qualified for his 5th IBSF World Championships coming up in March.
He expressed that although he had prepared his hopes were not high as it seemed unlikely until the last moment considering that seven months ago he had surgery.

The elated Frimpong who went through a hard time in the season said “Sometimes, you just do your best and leave the rest to God. I will be the first African in history to compete in 5 world championships in any sliding sport.
Until yesterday, it seemed unlikely that I would qualify for the upcoming World Championships in Lake Placid during the first week of March since I wasn’t able to do a full season and I wasn’t really counting on it after my surgery, but at the same time, I was sneakily hoping for a miracle” he told Yours Truly in an exclusive chat.

Akwasi Frimpong has competed in bobsledder and skeleton for Ghana, a country without snow and the Utah based had been an excellent sports ambassador.
The World Championship is fixed for March 6-9 & 15-16, 2025.

It is a welcome to the Pinnacle Of Sliding Sports as the IBSF Bobsled & Skeleton World Championships return to Mt Van Hoevenberg!
