The first stage of the ongoing 35th Edition of Tour du Faso began on a hot note with North African side Morocco sweeping all three prestigious medals- Gold, Silver and Bronze.
The Morocans clocked similar time finish of 3hrs 2mins 5sec apiece to begin the quest to clinch the yellow jersey.
64 riders including six Ghanaians are participating in this year’s Tour.
Absent from the host nation’s squad is Paul Damont, the chap who won the ultimate jersey last year.
Three Ghanaians failed to finish stage 1 signifying the hotness of this year’s race.
However, Ghana’s promising rider, Isaac Illiasu gave a good account of himself in the first stage by clinching the Combativity jersey to the admiration of the crowd.
Stage 2 from Koupela was a distance of 120.6km.
