Seth Gyimah aka Freezy Macbones extended his wins in Ghana to seven with no defeat when he knocked out Marciano Commey of Accra in round one at the Odwira Boxing Tournament in Akropong in the Eastern Region over the weekend.
When the bout started, it was Commey who looked aggressive and was throwing the punches, but the first blow from Freezy Macbones caught him wincing and after it was Freezy all the way, and the UK based super middleweight stole another show.
The fight was a warm up for Freezy as he prepares to meet Jonathan Tetteh, his colleague in the black bombers team for the 2024 Paris Olympic qualifiers.
In the main bout, on the same bill which was an appetiser for the 2024 Akwapem Odwira festival, Samuel Martei Laryea 24, beat 35 year old Nigerian Lukman Akinolugbade to win the Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) African Super Bantamweight champion.
The fight took place at the Forecourt of the Chief’s Palace in Akropong.
