Frederick Semenu Duvour and Vastie Amoafo-Yeboah were the big winners at the first competition of the 2024 edition of the prestigious MTN Invitational Golf Tournament which was successfully held at the Achimota Golf Club last Saturday, September 21.
Players from various clubs all over the country put up fantastic performances however luck and hard work of the winners paid off.
Fred Semenu Duvour won the Men’s Group A with a handicap of 12 with 40 points, he was followed by Justin B. C. Butah who did 10 handicaps with 38 points while Solomon Allotey was third also with 10 handicaps and 37 points.
Vastie Ampofo-Yeboah won the Ladies Group A with 14 handicaps and 44 points while Catherine Fabbi placed second.
Simron Oberoi took the first position in the Men’s Group B with 19 handicaps and 43 points with Walid Zoobi and Kevin Amedoh taking the second and third positions respectively with 41 and 38 points.
Sheryl Afia Afari won the Ladies Group B with 28 handicaps and 45 points, while Marlene Tonyigah took the second position.
Hajia Zenabu Sulemana and Chris Apau – Opong shared honours in the seniors division.
For the auxiliary prizes, the longest drive (Hole 15) Men went to Simran Oberoi, while Floria Hurtubise won the Ladies. Closest To The Pin (Hole 18) was won by Philip Paekes and Letitia Amponsah – Mensah took the Ladies prize.
All the winners took home fantastic prizes from MTN.
