The weigh in for the ‘Hands of Gold’ took place on the cross street near the Bukom Park in Accra to create awareness that the venue has moved from Treehouse Restaurant to the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday September 14 and even before the referee could signal for round one. the boxers were already holding each other.
The skirmish created indicates that fans are going to witness a real boxing battle between Ghana’s Daniel Gorsh aka King Selassie and Benin’s Ghislain Vodounhessi aka John Amuzu. Daniel Selassie Gorsh tilted the scales at 118 lbs while Beninois opponent, Ghislain Vodounhessi weighed 117.1 lbs
Grislain and his team really came for the title and their confidence is to give a championship performance.
Previously he has been 16 of 17 Ghanaians he has fought with, losing to only Wasiru Mohammed aka. Gyata Bi. He looks the favourite on paper with his experience, but the home grounds and youthfulness favour Gorsh.
But Coach Carl Lokko of the Bronx Gym at Jamestown thinks Daniel Selassie Gorsh also has what it takes to stop Benin boxer and they are working in that area.
“The Bronx Gym of champions doesn’t run away from titles, we go for it and we are going for the WBO Africa Bantamweight title. It’s ours for now” he told Yours Truly.
Daniel Gorsh said the time has come to climb into a new level and he will win to come into the top 15 in the world and go on to win the world title.
Gorsh is undefeated with 12 wins. while Grislain Vodounhessi is 25-2-0
