Ghana’s medal hopeful, Zinabu Issah missed out on a medal after finishing ninth in the Women’s Shot Put at the ongoing 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
She threw a distance of 8.84 meters in the F57 final which happened to be her personal best and an improvement from her 8.67 meters in the qualifiers, but that was not long enough to get a medal.
Algerian Djelal Safia won the gold, while Xu Mian from China and Algeria’s Saifi Nassima got silver and bronze, respectively.
This is the second time Zinabu has missed out on a medal, having also failed in the Discus event.
Now all focus and attention is on strongmanTahiru Haruna who competes in para-powerlifting on Sunday, September 8.
Ghana was represented by four athletes at the 2024 Paris Para Games, which Patricia Kyeremaa and Frederick Assor have already exited the Taekwondo and Para Cycling events, respectively.
President of NPC Ghana, Mr. Samson Deen is happy for the experience and exposure gained.
