The Greater Accra Handball Association (GAHA), led by it’s chairman, Rama Kudolo is set for it’s Open Championship at the Prisons Handball Court in Accra.
The annual championship which is organized by the Association is to prepare the various teams adequately as well as usher in a new league season.
This year’s 3-day event which has been scheduled from Thursday, 7th to Saturday, 9th April, 2022 would be held under the theme, “Time To Arise And Shine”.
9 teams are expected to compete in the women’s division namely, Police, Fire, Prisons, Air Force, Army, University of Ghana, Kasland, Cantonment Youth, and Unique Fingers.
The men’s division on the other hand will have 14 teams. Prisons, Fire, Police, Army, Air Force, Legonite, Cantonment Youth, EL Wak Wings, University of Ghana, Unique Fingers, Kaneshie Royals, Osu Fingers, Unique Fingers, and Burma Stars.
The women’s team of Ghana Police emerged victors in the 2020 edition after beating Ghana Air Force 25-19 in the finals.
26-22 were the final results of the men’s final as Reformers(Ghana Prisons) stunt Extinguishers(Ghana Fire Service).
This year’s event will be the second open championship under the auspices of the Rama Kudulo’s administration.
Winners of the event will be awarded trophies and medals
