Uganda will host the 2024 African Boxing Union Convention at the Hotel Africana in Kampala City, under the auspices of the Uganda Professional Boxing Commission (UPBC) led by it’s President Salim Uhuru Nsubuga and his Executive.
The Convention will be chaired by the ABU President Mr. Houcine Houichi with his Executive, commencing on Sunday 18th August with arrival of delegates and close on Friday 23rd August with two ABU Title fights plus five supporting bouts.
The ABU convention happens every after two years, the last one having been hosted by Zimbabwe in Victoria Falls City at Victoria Falls Hotel in 2022.
According to Maureen Mulangira, Treasurer UPBC, Sec. Gen. ABU and Member Board of Governors – WBC, the Convention is going to look at very many important issues concerning Professional Boxing in Africa & at the globe.
“During the same, we shall have two days of the ABU/WBC Ring Officials'(Referee & Judges) Training which will be conducted by two WBC high ranked trainers of Ring Officials” she said.
