Hon. Cletus Seidu Dapilah, MP for Jirapa Constituency, a former 100m and 200m runner for Tumu Teacher Training College, has promised to promote the development of sports in the constituency.
He made the promise during the finals of the just ended football gala which was won by Tizza Naayibog Warriors. The Member of Parliament promised all the communities within the Tizza township, jerseys and footballs to enhance their performance. He said, he will support the 2024 edition of the gala to make it bigger than the first edition.
James Thompson Anlaamige, organizer of the tournament pleaded with the government to build an astro turf in Tizza, to improve the performance level of the youth in the town. He also commended the Member of Parliament for his role in promoting sports in the Jirapa Constituency.
Meanwhile, as part of activities during the one year anniversary of the Tizza Naa, Naa Bawayele Nnaayele Dakurah lll, a Queen Mother for Tizza was enskinned with the skin name, Pognaa Elizabeth N-yelkabong Dakurah Tukpeh l.
She was a former tutor at the St. Francis Senior High School in Jirapa. Traditional rites were performed and she was outdoored to the general public. In her speech, she promised to empower education in the community especially, girls education.
