Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif, has tasked the new leadership of Ghana Athletics to revive Ghanaians’ interest in the sport.
On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, the Minister was formally greeted by the newly-elected executives of the association, who were led by President Bawa Fuseini at his office in Accra.
During the visit, the Minister tasked the new leadership to revive athletics in the West African nation and make it a sport of choice for sports lovers in the country.
The association elected its new leadership last month in a poll in Techiman that saw Bawa Fuseini, a former General Secretary of the Association, record an outright victory over his opponents.
Meanwhile, the association has commenced serious preparations for the 13th African Games that will take place in Accra in March 2024.
