Asamoah Gyan retires from active football

Ghana’s All Time Top Scorer, Africa’s top scorer at the World Cup, BBC African Footballer of the Year 2010 Asamoah Gyan has officially retired from professional football.

He made the announcement at the conference. In a touching speech, a teary Gyan said football was something he did since he was a child.

He made the announcement  at The 30th Afreximbank Annual Meetings at the Accra International Conference Centre  at 5pm today while speaking on the theme “Sport as a New Creative Industry Opportunity for Inclusive Growth: Insights from a Professional”
